“To capture, create and share, this I hope to be my artistic success and journey now in my life”

                                                                                                                                                                   Carol “Cj” Nelson

Carol ‘Cj’ Nelson is an award-winning Northern California Photographer and Multi Media Artist who is most at ease in nature, behind a camera or creating exquisite treasures in her art studio.

She resides in Georgetown, a small “once upon a time” gold mining town that she has called home for the last 20 years.

Born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, Carol’s early start in the arts was oil painting.  Her scenes of the colorful waterfronts, oceanscapes, fishing vessels and lighthouses were exhibited in local galleries along Buzzards Bay and throughout Cape Cod.

Carol relocated to Monterey California in 1974 where she continued with her style of oil and watercolor paintings and exhibited at Lim Gallery, Carmel, CA and David’s of Carmel for four years.

Upon relocating to Sacramento in 1980, Carol’s artwork took another direction when she apprenticed with a Sacramento jeweler, designing and creating fine jewelry pieces, eventually going on her own.     Her next 18 years as a Master Goldsmith/Jewelry Designer is apparent in the smallest of details and perfections in each of the photographs and other special art pieces she creates today.

Loving the “west” her photography depicts the colors and actions of the modern west, visions of the old west, and aesthetics around El Dorado County.

Carol’s works of art grace many homes and businesses from the East to the West coasts, as well as more recently Japan, Germany and Canada.

Her favorite shooting locations include California, El Dorado County and Nevada.
